Replica Hindu Temple

Inspired by my parents who are architects, I designed a mini Hindu temple using references from temples in India. It was fun to delve into the world of architecture and understand the symbolic meanings of different parts of temples. This was my first attempt at designing something like this and I plan to make more.

Photo based 3D Modeling

This was the first project I designed using only reference photos, making it one of the most time-consuming builds I’ve worked on due to the high level of architectural detail. To estimate scale, I relied on the surrounding environment and people in the images, which turned out to be incredibly helpful. I believe I came very close to capturing the structure accurately, especially the smaller shrines, which were modeled with good precision. However, looking back, I could have made the top portion of the main shrine much larger. The main dome, especially the round, bulbous section, wasn't as precise as I wanted. The top element of the dome ended up being too small in proportion to the bottom element of the dome. Because this was a miniaturized version, I was limited by the resolution and physical size constraints of my FDM 3D printer, which can only produce such small details to a certain degree. Overall, I was very happy with the result!
